UNIC has a lot to offer social sciences and humanities students. UNIC is a leader in Eastern Mediterranean Studies, which explore peace and conflict, energy security, geopolitics, and diplomacy. Cyprus is geostrategically located at the crossroads of three continents, with 12,000 years of cultural history.

Our Communications department gives you world-class equipment and lab facilities, and internship opportunities.

Our Psychology courses and degree teach to the style of the American Psychological Association, and most faculty in the department have studied and trained in the United States.

Students choose courses for up to 30 ECTS from the catalog of regularly scheduled Spring and Fall semester courses offered at the University of Nicosia.

  • Courses designated as Erasmus, and with codes MED, EDUC, NUTR, SOWK, and BENG are not available to study abroad students.
  • Undergraduate students are only eligible for course numbers 100-499.
  • Practicum courses are approved on a case-by-case basis only.

Credit-Bearing Research Projects / Internships are a great way to engage with the international academic research community working on projects that span a wide variety of disciplines and innovative areas of research, develop skills to conduct academic research, have the flexibility to build your schedule around already existing work and school commitments, obtain academic credit for your work, build your resume and make lasting connections for your future academic and work careers.

How a Research Project Internship Works

1. Complete an Application

Choose the Research Project Internship for which You Would Like to Apply:

  • Include the Name of the Research Project Internship for which You Would Like to Apply along with a
    Statement of Interest in your Online Application Form
  • Upload an Unofficial Copy of Your Transcript
  • Email a Copy of Your Resume to: admissions@globalsemesters.com

2. Wait for confirmation of match for the Research Internship Project for which you have applied.

Internships and Research Projects are not for compensation.

Excursions

In-Country Excursions

Students on our programs travel all around Cyprus as part of their program. Cyprus has 12,000 years of cultural history, world-famous beaches, and world-renowned geology.

Typically Include:
Overnight or Day Trips/Tours in Nicosia, Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, Kyrenia, and Troodos.

For overnight excursions, students typically stay in double occupancy hotel rooms.

* Some trips may not be possible due to Government regulations.

Housing

All students are housed in single occupancy student residences with ensuite kitchens, bathrooms and private balconies. Students have access to building amenities which may include a gym, game room, study room, TV room, laundry facilities, cafes and restaurants.

All residences are located in the upscale neighbourhood of Makedonitissa, in Nicosia, and are surrounded by UNIC’s Vibrant Urban Campus.

UNIC City is home to more than 40 Restaurants, Coffee Shops, Pubs and Bars, Retail, Supermarkets, and more, all within walking distance.

Housing is randomly assigned. We try to house students from the same home institutions together when possible.

For any special housing requests, please speak with your Global Semesters enrollment advisor by the deadline for completing your Enrollment Forms.

  • There is an additional refundable damage deposit of $250, and a mandatory insurance of $200 that are not included in program fees.
